The Common Characteristics of Hazardous Diet

The main characteristic of a dangerous diet is that protein intake – carbs – fat is not balanced. In some diets emphasis on the consumption of protein (eg Ducan, Atkins) while others emphasize the consumption of carbohydrate (eg fruit). Still another class of dangerous diet is total abstinence from food.

In these diets protein intake is increased relative to the other nutrients which leads plurality of side effects for the organism:

  • dehydration
  • Proteinuria
  • Production of ketone bodies
  • Reduced intake of vitamin C
  • Increased fat intake (these diets are not dry)
  • Calciuria and long term osteoporosis
  • depression
  • Decreased brain function (glucose = carbohydrate is the main fuel of the brain)
  • Production of uric acid – gout possible
  • Increased blood cholesterol
  • Increased blood triglycerides
  • General fatigue and payment forces
  • Episodes of hypoglycemia in diabetics and increased risk of cardiovascular diseases
  • Charge renal function (particularly renal)


In these diets, the carbohydrate intake is increased relative to the other nutrients which leads to adverse wealth effects on the body:

  • Insufficient intake of iron
  • Inadequate intake of essential oils for the body
  • Insufficient intake of vitamins A, D, E and K.
  • Decreased calcium absorption due to vitamin D deficiency
  • Problem in transporting fat in the bones due to lack of synthesis of albumin (protein carrier)
  • Risk of de novo biosynthesis of fat (non-fat raw materials)
  • Risk deregulation blood sugar in diabetics
  • Excessive potassium intake (possible kidney burden in renal or not)

Nullification or ABSTAIN FROM EATING

Another common practice rapid weight loss is the total or partial abstinence from food. This practice is very dangerous and can lead to:

  • Loss mainly muscle tissue
  • Fall metabolism
  • Enable pulling homeostatic mechanisms
  • Decreased calcium absorption due to vitamin D deficiency
  • Massive loss of minerals from the body
  • Atrophy infarction (which is the heart muscle) and arrhythmias
  • Danger to life
  • Combinations of all the above side effects


  • You should be wary of anything involving the proposed exclusion of food groups (unless there is a health problem)
  • Check degree of special visiting
  • There are no magic diets
  • The more is the diet of our daily lives sooner you stop apply and will regain the weight lost
  • Weight loss is unfortunately not proof that the process followed is correct
  • Proper diet does not propose deprivation and extreme eating behaviors
